Today, the 8th of July 2021, the management structures of Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme organised online the first meeting of the Strategy Board established for drafting the integrated territorial strategy of Romania-Bulgaria cross-border area.
The Strategy Board is a partnership structure comprising relevant stakeholders from the cross-border region, created with the purpose to elaborate an integrated territorial strategy of the area, which will contribute to the implementation of Policy Objective 5- A Europe closer to citizens, objective that was selected to be financed by Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme 2021-2027, in compliance with the provisions of the EU Regulation.
The meeting started with the introduction of all members of the Strategy Board and continued with the provisions of the EU Regulations applicable to Policy Objective 5- A Europe closer to citizens, the principles for identification of the projects to be included in the territorial development strategy of Romania-Bulgaria cross-border area. The meeting continued with the presentation of the role, responsibilities and basic functioning principles of the Strategy Board as well as the calendar of specific activities to be carried out during next period by the members of the Board.
The most significant challenges, needs and development potential of the cross-border area, previously identified in the territorial analysis of the border region, that represented the foundation for the development of Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme 2021-2027, were mentioned.
The discussions and presentations continued with the key pointers of Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme 2021-2027 regarding Policy Objective 5- A Europe closer to citizens.
