Sustainable cross-border tourism products for Memorial Park “Grivitsa” and “Turnu Fortres”

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?
Programme outputs:
- 9 integrated tourism products/services created;
- 8.000 expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction;
- 1 strategy for valorizing the cultural and natural heritage;
Programme results: increase of the number of overnights in the cbc area with 200.
Project status
The project implementation was finalized on 31.12.2023.
On behalf of LB – “Reconstruction the Grivitsa Memorial Park” (Grivitsa, Pleven Municipality), started in December 2021 and finalized in September 2023. The main works executed in Grivitsa consist of 15 three-dimensional figures, installed site lighting, created paintball area, in the entrance area is mounted entrance arch and a toilet, the Central memorial alley is cleaned and etc.
On behalf of B2 “Reconstruction of the Turnu Fortress – Stage 2”, situated in Turnu Magurele Town, the investment works were also finalized since the end of October 2023. The works realized within the Stage 2 of the Turnu Fortress are represented from an equipped information center, parking places and the acquisition of a balloon with hot air.
Within the frame of the Activity T.1 – “Developing joint tourism products, services and marketing strategy”, there were several seminars performed with stakeholders for discussion of the strategy content. In addition, within the frame of the Activity T.2 “Mapping of “Memory Route” sites and development of online platform and smartphone application”, the LB completed the Mapping of thematic objects of cultural and historical military heritage in both municipalities and transformed it into Interactive map and developed a trilingual tourist platform for promotion of thematic cross-border products and services together with application for smartphone, all available on the following link: https://pleven.eu.
In the same, the project beneficiaries conducted the three "brainstorming" seminars of stakeholders in tourism sector – all 3 in Turnu Magurele town.
Within the WP “Communication”, B2 organized the start launching press conference in Turnu Magurele and LB organized the final press conference in Pleven.
B-TeN (ROBG-442)
“Improve nodes Giurgiu – Byala for better connection to Ten-T infrastructure”
What’s the goal?
The main objective of the project is to improve the joint transport system through effective connection of Giurgiu County and Byala communities with core and comprehensive TEN-T transport network.

7,974,947.04 euro out of which 6,778,704.97 euro ERDF.

How is it going to happen?
- Elaboration of a joint traffic management plan;
- Conducting an awareness campaign for the traffic management system;
- Mapping the black-spots for Byala streets and Giurgiu County road and development of module/ application - integrated awareness system for traffic safety measures in both municipalities;
- Elaboration of a traffic study and needs for road infrastructure development for the cross border area;
- Rehabilitation of Giurgiu County road DJ412A: Adunații Copăceni - Dărăști Vlasca - Novaci - Popești – Mihăilești (12,53 km);
- Rehabilitation of streets in Byala Municipality (4,80 km).
What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?
Programme outputs: Rehabilitation of the transport infrastructure providing access to the TEN-T network (total length of reconstructed or upgraded roads 17,33 km);
Implementing 5 joint mechanisms to facilitate the connection of secondary/ tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure.
Programme results: 29,450 cross-border population served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T.

The works for "Rehabilitation DJ412A: Adunații Copăceni - Dărăști Vlașca - Novaci - Popești - Mihăilești" started on 15.09.2020 with a deadline of 24 months for their execution and 3 months for design services. The infrastructure works have been finalized from 28.02.2023.

Work in Byala started in early May 2020 and was completed from 05.04.2021.
Territorial Administrative Unit - Giurgiu County and Byala Municipality have completed the activities regarding the development of 2 maps with black dots for areas with dangerous traffic and the traffic study. The development of the traffic management plan was completed on 04.10.2019. The study "New approaches in the field of traffic management and traffic safety measures in the territory of Byala and Giurgiu" was developed on 27.07.2020.
The project website has been created and is available at https://b-ten.info/ for LB and for B2 https://g-ten.info/. The site is a module of an integrated information system for road safety measures and allows the visualization of road accidents that occurred in Giurgiu-Byala area in the last five years in an interactive form - as a dynamic digital map, which in an interface user-friendly can identify areas where these accidents occur. These locations are called "black spots" - points where accidents are more frequent than the average statistical levels for the road infrastructure.

Silistra – Ecofriendly – Viable – Electrical – Navodari Transport

To improve tertiary nodes connection by reconstruction of 4,315 m of road and introducing eco-friendly-transportation in the Silistra - Navodari cross-border area.

- Elaboration of a Joint Strategy whose aim will be to identify better transport services for the citizens in the cross-border area, improve the accessibility and mobility of people with minimum effects on the environment and propose future projects to be developed in common;
- Elaboration of a Joint Route Guide which will gather information about bicycle lanes and routes, sightseeing - cultural and natural heritage, hotels, shops and garages for bicycles in the region of Silistra and Navodari;
- Construction of a 14.414 m of bike lanes, construction of 7 bike docks in Silistra (for standard and electric bikes), 36 bus and bike stations in Navodari and 1 solar parking in Silistra;
- Rehabilitation of 4.315 km of road;
- Organization of communication and promotion activities.
What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?
Programme outputs:
4,315 km of rehabilitated roads;
2 joint mechanisms that facilitate the connection of secondary/tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure;
Programme results:
68,211 persons from the cross border area will be served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T
Project status
The project is finalized. LB – TAU Navodari Municipality realized the following investments: Modernization of Navodari boulevard - 3.84 km of road were modernized, bicycle paths were built for a length of 6.90 km, traffic signs were installed and 36 modern bus stops were placed. B2 – Silistra Municipality made the following investments: 8.64 km of bicycle paths were built/marked in the municipality of Silistra. 7 docks have been installed for electric and normal bikes. Vaptsarov boulevard with a total length of 0.47 km was modernized. The partners carried out related activities to ensure publicity and information. Programme results: 136,114 Cross border population served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T.
Project status
The project was finalized. The following results have been achieved within the project:
1. Modernizing of 13.13 km of road infrastructure in order to connect secondary (Dobrich) and tertiary (Medgidia) nodes to TEN-T infrastructure and to reduce transportation time and optimising logistics. Also, 5.497 km of roads were modernized through this investment in Medgidia and 7.632 km of roads were modernized through this investment in Dobrich;

5. A campaign organized in crowded points of Medgidia, named “Be responsible in traffic!”
6. The acquisition of maintenance equipment by TAU Medgidia: Backhoe with accessories and High pressure machine for unclogging the small bridges, gutters, ditches, etc.;
7. 145.237 inhabitants, representing cross-border population served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T: 43.519 inhabitants in Medgidia Municipality and 101.718 people in Dobrich Municipality.
